SWING STATES ACTION FUND

Swing States Action Fund is a nonprofit organization working to inspire, engage, and mobilize Democratic voters to live, vote, and thrive in key swing states that have a huge stake in U.S. presidential and congressional elections. These nine swing states (also known as battleground states or purple states) are Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin. We carry out our activities to help protect American democracy against forces attempting to restrict voting rights, overturn elections, and weaken democratic institutions.

First, we encourage and assist Democratic voters to relocate to key swing states. We work to connect an informal network of current residents in swing states to serve as a resource to help new residents with information about relocating to new communities so that the transition is as smooth and stress-free as possible. Because we recognize that many people cannot easily just pack up and move to a new state, we focus our message on individuals who are already considering or planning to relocate as well as people in life transitions, such as new college graduates and recent retirees from the workforce.

Second, we work to register and mobilize Democratic voters in key swing states. We help register Democrats to vote through various outreach efforts such as postcarding and in-person voter drives, and we provide information to residents of swing states about how, when, and where to vote in their states and in their communities. We also strive to ensure that Democratic voters in swing states turn out to vote during election season. We are committed to helping people be informed and active citizens in their communities.

Swing States Action Fund is a 527 political organization, and donations to Swing States Action Fund are not tax deductible. Swing States Action Fund is not a political action committee (PAC) and does not endorse or oppose candidates and does not make contributions to, or coordinate its spending with, any candidates or political parties.
